Cheetah Chase

Cheetah Chase
The Masai Mara 16th May 2008 08:20. Early morning game drive. In the Mara Triangle below Mara Serna Lodge. There's just us, any other tourists were on their way back for breakfast. We had stopped so that I could get a picture of this Thomson's Gazelle, finally one that did not turn his back on us.
David, our guide, quietly told us to get our cameras ready, he had seen something in the grass ahead of us.... So set camera lens set to 70mm, the widest that it would go, f8 and manually focussed in the mid to long distance, no way that I wanted to miss shots whilst the auto-focus was hunting. I set the camera to continuous shooting and just kept my finger on the button.
The 17 shots of the chase were taken in 11 seconds, so all together 20 seconds from start to finish,
